siem reap temples picture tour

bayon - is the last state temple to be built at Angkor - the most distinctive feature of which
is the multitude of smiling faces whichrise to its
central peak

on the right is the author's attempt in capturing the mystic play of light and shadow, inspired by the french photographer who did the same

the majestic ankor wat - largest and the best preserved of the monuments -
under the searing noonday sun

and the amazing bas reliefs that it is famous for

( left pic) found in one of the hallways of the innermost court

(right pic) adorns the wall of the outer court

ta prohm - (with all the lara croft wannabes)
famous for its gigantic trees with massive prop roots

inner building entrance and wall detail

baphuon - undergoing a massive facelift
restricting visitor access

terrace of the elephants - (as captured by my serviceable k700)
essentially a 350 meters of elephants, lions and garudas
carved into a 2.5 meter high wall extending from the
Baphuon to the terrace of the Leper King

ta keo - the last temple visited during the two-day visit
